| Surion Takes a Tumble & First Steps
There came a small scratching at the window.
Ala turned towards the sound and wandered towards the window
The small message beast was in the window, pawing to get in.
Ala opened the window admitting the creature
The Creature hopped onto the counter top and looked at her, sniffed her hand for a moment, before presenting the scroll.
"Thankyou" she said giving it a pet and taking the scroll to open it Ala's eyes went wide and she rolled the scroll up stuffing it in her back pocket giving the creature a treat to say Thankyou
The Creature purred and nuzzled her hand, before waiting to see if was going to get a reply message.
Ala thought about it and grabbed a sheet of paper writing a very quick note thanking her some for the news and a congrats to her grandkids and handed it to the creature
The Creature chirped and skittered out the window.
Ala pulled the window shut again and stood at the counter deciding what to do
Torvil came out a little later with a yawn. "Hey... Was the messenger just here?"
"Yeah..." she said sounding distracted
"What it bring?" He asked his distracted wife. "Good news, Bad news?"
"Vin's kids have mates, no kids.. and Asy and Dia been at it" she said still slightly distracted
Torvil blinked. "Say what? Here let me see it..." He asked looking for the letter.
Ala reached into her back pocket and pulled it out handing it to Torvil without looking
Torvil took it and read it, biting his lip to stifle a laugh.
"I am going to go have to bug Dia" Ala mused finally looking up
Torvil chuckled softly and touched her arm. "Later... from the looks of this, bugging her right now could be bad..." Though judging by the level of drying on the ink, the letter had been written yesterday.
Ala nodded "That's what I thought too" she said looking out the window
Torvil looked it over. "It might be safer to fly... Though... The ink is about a day dry... Sooo..."
Ala chuckled
Torvil smirked. "What you think I'd let Asy off easy for this either?"
Ala laughed loudly
Torvil smirked. "We'd need somebody to watch Surion tho... No need for him to pick up those kinds of words yet..."
Ala chuckled "Could go one at a time"
Torvil tapped his chin. "That would could... But that would be less fun..." He sighed softly. "But I guess if you really want to go alone I'll let you go first..."
Ala chuckled "I'd rather razz her alone anyways, it's more fun"
Torvil chuckled. "Alright... You go on ahead, I'll watch Surion.."
Ala nodded and stood up away from the counter "'kay" she said looking at him
Torvil smiled and kissed her softly. "Have fun."
Ala chuckled "Yeah... you too, you and Surion seemed to be enjoying yourself"
Torvil chuckled happily, and kissed her again. "Yeah..."
Ala headed out the door of the house
Shortly after Ala left there was a loud crash and a cry from Ala and Torvil's room
Torvil swore at his stupidity, he should have taken Surion off the bed. He ran.
Surion was laying on the floor atop his blanket he had been reaching to get since he had dropped it off hte bed, and he was bawling
Torvil moved over quickly and picked him up gently, handing him his blanket and sitting with him on the floor, looking him over for injuries.
Surion clung to the blanket and his father
Torvil sighed. "Sorry Daddy's stupid..." he murmured, looking over Surion for injuries still hoping there weren't any present.
Surion had a small bump atop his head but was otherwise ok as he clung tighter
Torvil softly caressed the bump, tapping into a power he really didn't know he had, his gem lit up very dimly as he tried to fix that wound, hoping to god he could do something, anything to help it.
Surion cried a renewed cry as the bump was touched
Torvil winced and sighed, feeling a kind of drag on him as he slowly removed his finger. "I wish I had your mother's power..." He muttered. "That bump would be gone..." He hugged Surion to his chest, and started to cry... Over how his stupidity had harmed his son.
Surion clung to his father and his cries quieted for the most part and were mainly whimpers and soft cries now
Torvil sighed heavily as he held Surion. "Daddy's sorry..."
"Dada Ow" he whimpered
Torvil sighed and brushed the back of his. "I know, I know... I wish I could help..." He closed his eyes, trying his hardest to tap into the Kerrsal healing... If he even had it...
Surion sniffled and clung quietly glad for his father's comfort
Torvil just held him, and sighed. "Your mother is going to kill me..." He muttered.
"Mama?" he sniffled "Dada Ow" he clung as tight and cuddled as close as he could
Torvil sighed and hugged him tighter. "Dada sorry he cause Owie..."
Surion nodded a hand moving along his father's shirt towards his arm pulling it closer
Torvil sighed and kissed Surion's bump.
Surion looked up at him with red stained cheeks "ungry?" he said quietly
Torvil gave him his arm. "If you are... I'm not..." He brushed his son's tears away.
Surion pulled his father's arm close, he was hungry
Torvil smiled and brushed his little head softly, letting him have free reign of his arm.
Surion lifted the arm "ungry" he said again
Torvil chuckled and lifted his arm to his mouth. "Bite down..." He bit down on his wrist, then offered it to him.
Surion pulled it to him open mouthed and latched on, he was good at fingers but not arms
Torvil chuckled and nuzzled his little head with a smile.
Surion fed for a while before letting go "Dada"
Torvil smiled. "Yes Surion?" He asked softly.
"Up?" he asked looking more calm, but the bump still existed
Torvil smiled and pulled him close, standing up. "Your mother is going to rip me a new one..." He muttered.
"New un?" Surion blinked and looked down "Bank!" he reached towards the item which caused him to fall the first time
Torvil chuckled softly and picked up the blanket, tossing it on his head.
Surion whined and pulled it off and into his arms
Torvil sighed and let him hold it. "Sorry Surion..." He kissed his son's forehead softly and headed for the living room.
Surion leaned against his father's chest "Dada ow" he said
Torvil sighed. "Sorry Surion I wish I could help..." His own head was starting to hur in sympathy.
"Dada ow?" he looked up and pointed a finger at him
Torvil shook his head. "Dada ow right here..." He said softly, touching his heart and then his head.
Surion blinked he clung to his blanket
Torvil hugged him and sighed. "Daddy sorry that Daddy stupid..."
"tupid?" Yet another word Surion did not know what meant
Torvil smiled more than happy to define. "Means daddy did something not smart... Means daddy let Surion get owie..."
Surion blinked and pointed at his dad "mart!"
Torvil shook his head. "No... Not smart... I let you get owie..."
Surion blinked trying to figure his dad out then gave up and leaned against him
Torvil sighed and held him, moving to go sit down on the couch.
"Dada sad?" one word he did know
Torvil nodded slowly. "Dada little sad..."
Surion pouted "No sad"
Torvil smiled softly. "Okay Surion, for you..."
Surion's smile returned and he bounced once on his father's lap
Torvil smiled at him and kissed his forehead. "Now what Surion?"
Surion turned on his father's lap and crawled off of it and onto the couch he faced the back and grabbed hold o hte back of hte couch to pull up and stand
Torvil chuckled. "Careful..." He warned, watching his son, and holding the blanket.
Surion looked at his dad and started to cruise along the back of the couch
Torvil chuckled and watched him happily.
Surion dropped onto his bottom at the end of the couch and looking back at his dad "dow?"
Torvil moved over and helped him down to the floor level.
Surion grinned pulling himself to stand again at the couch and standing there watching his dad
Torvil smiled and moved to the floor as well, tossing the blanket over his son's head.
Surion whined pulling it off "no no no ow" he held the blanket by it's corner
Torvil sighed. "Sorry..." He kissed the bump very softly and brushed Surion's cheek.
Surion smiled and looked around from the couch to his father to the coffee table and an armchair
Torvil chuckled. "What are you planning you little devil..."
"goig" he said holding onto the couch with one hand trying to determine in his mind what piece of furniture was closest to him
Torvil grinned and chuckled. Watching his son work
Surion decided the coffee table was closest and reached for it with his free hand slowly inching himself further away from the couch till he almost touched it
Torvil smiled and watched his son, ready to move and catch him if he tumbled.
Surion tilted his center of balance to grab hold of the table just as he let go of the couch
Torvil grinned and watched him work.
Surion grinned proudly to himself as he managed to get himself standing before the table
Torvil smiled and clapped his hands. "Good show!"
Surion giggled and turned his torso looking at his father who was now further way from him
Torvil smiled and scooted over. "Hehe, that's a boy Surion!"
Surion giggled and started cruising the perimeter of the table
Torvil smiled and watched him.
Surion got around the table and within a couple minutes repeated his actions from the couch to table but from the table to the chair
Torvil smiled and clapped his hands. "Good job!" He crawled to Surion slowly.
Surion turned around so he leaned against the armchair and clapped his hands with his dad "job!"
Torvil smiled and sat beside him again.
Surion reached for his dad
Torvil smiled and leaned a little closer to him, offering an arm as well.
"Dada" he said leaning a little forward feeling a very smidgen brave as he reached for his father's arm
Torvil smiled ready to move if he had to to prevent a spalt.
"Dada goig" he said a look of concentration on his face as he reached with both hands moving a foot just a smidgen
Torvil smiled. "I'm not moving... You just focus on trying..."
Surion shifted his weight from his bottom to his legs. Standing teetering right next to the armchair
Torvil smiled. "Come on, you can do it! You can do it!" He jittered excitedly.
"goig!" Surion said taking a small step
Torvil smiled. "Yeah that's it... keep going..."
Surion paused looking at him for a moment before taking another tipsy step
Torvil smiled. "That's it.. You've got it... Keep it up..."
"Goig" Surion reached out with grabby hands to the arm just out of reach before taking another step "Dada!"
Torvil smiled. "Yes, you are going to Dada... You can do it... Just a little farther..."
Surion's face held a look of concentration as he took another step that let him grab the hairs on his father's arm
Torvil was purring loudly. "Almost there Surion, just a little farther..."
Surion whined and let himself drop onto his bottom
Torvil smiled softly. "Good try... good try..." He scooted close and kissed his son's forehead.
"Up" he said with a pout
Torvil smiled and scooped him up.
Surion leaned against him clinging to his father's shirt
Torvil smiled and brushed the back of his head softly.
Surion cuddled close
Ala showed up a moment later near the doorway, she had used the nether on her return
Torvil looked up at her. "Hey..." He said softly, nuzzling Surion very gently.
"Hi there" she said with a smile "You two have fun?" she asked noticing Surion was awake as she pulled off her shoes
Torvil nodded. "Yeah... Surion walked a little..." He purred softly, leaving out the er... bump...
"That's my boy" Ala said walking towards them
Surion looked up at her "Mama ow"
Torvil winced. "Er yeah... that..." He muttered
Ala blinked "Ow?"
Surion reached towards his mom
Torvil stood and handed Surion off to her, not pointing out the bump, it was still very visible.
Ala took him looking at him and noticing the bump "Torvil do you care to explain?"
Torvil sighed. "I was stupid as per usual, and left him on the bed alone..." He didn't look at the two.
"Torvilllll" the tone of her voice raised slightly "You know better then that I told you it wasn't safe only a little while ago" she let her healing activate the gem glowing lightly as she held Surion
Torvil didn't look at her. "I know... I'm stupid..." He said, all effort seemingly gone in his voice.
Ala sighed "Torvil, you have to remember he's not like the others, he doesn't entirely realize that can happen"
Torvil was biting his lip so hard he was bleeding, not that Ala could see. "I know..." He said. His voice was very much upset... He was crying too. "And I'm stupid..."
"No you aren't stupid Torvil, forgetful yes, not used to little ones yes... but not stupid" the gem dimmed as the bump faded away on her son's head
Torvil sniffled. "Why do I feel like I am then..." He still didn't look at her,
"Why do you feel like anything, if you do something wrong you always feel like this, you feel stupid, or unworthy, or down right depressed, I don't know why you feel the way you do.." she sighed
Torvil turned to her. "Sorry... I'm bringing you down with me and I shouldn't do that.." there was red on his cheeks and chin.
Ala sighed softly and moved towards him an arm out to pull him close as her other arm held Surion who clung to her
Torvil hugged them both and sighed. "Well it's over, and Surion's okay, so we can just move on..." he said softly.
"Aye, and simply be careful in the future" she said holding him close
Torvil nodded and hugged them tight. "Gods I love you guys..."
Ala purred softly "Love you too" she glanced over at Surion who lay on her shoulder sucking his thumb
Torvil smiled and kissed her cheek, than Surion's, leaving two little red dots.
Ala smiled softly "Grab Surion's blanket I think it's time for bed... in his crib" she said and started to hum a soft lullaby and pulled away from Torvil to head for Surion's room
Torvil purred and fetched it, following after her.
By the time Ala reached Surion's room and was going to put him in his crib he was reaching for his blanket
Torvil smiled and handed it too him. "Good night sweet prince, may your dreams be splendid..."
Ala purred and set him down with his blanket and he rolled pulling the blanket partially over his body. Ala turned and shooed Torvil towards the door
Torvil smiled and walked out slowly.
Ala closed the door mostly behind them "So tell me more about the evening
Torvil smiled a little. "He walked... just a little... He cruised a lot... Ate..." he showed the quickly fading punctures on his wrist.
Ala chuckled "tell me more about the walking" she said looping her arm around his waist
Torvil purred and pulled her closer. "He did rather well for his first try. He was trying to get from the armchair to me... Almost made it... Little wobbly steps..." He grinned.
Ala grinned "Our son is growing up"
Torvil nodded. "Yep..." He said softly with a very large smile.
