The Under-caves: Government: Monarchy (actually an oligarchy) God: Kazin Til Location: Below the Draconic Lycan Cliffs Culture: The Under-cave culture stems from the command from Kazin Til. 'Your friends are your enemies, and your enemies are your friends. Trust neither, and kill them both, for only you shall enter my house alone'. It is considered a grievous insult not to try and kill someone when you are introduced, and it is considered a faux pas for a host not to poison the food and drink at every party. Dueling is common, and daggers are the standard weapon of choice for both males and females. However only those with great skill can become Dagger dancers, an elite class of duelist who has fought over a hundred duels. Duels however are to the death. Those that achieve the level of Dagger dancer have their surnamed changed to such. It is a mark of extreme honor and privilege; as such surname is only second to Bloodwielder. Blood wielders are the highest level of Necromancers, able to control the very flow of blood in a person's body. They gain this skill through the ritual of Kazin Til. The specifics of the ritual are unknown, and only the strongest may do it. A Blood wielder can be identified, by their eyes, which are no longer the Drow black, and now instead, glow a bright violet. Ruling Class: The Drow are thought to be ruled by a Monarchy but are in fact, ruled by a council of the three strongest Necromancers. Only one of which is a male, the Duke of the Under-caves, and leader of the council of the thirteen duchies that make up the duchy of the Under-caves. The other two are the leaders of the Blood hand and Black soul factions of Necromancy. These two factions act as the religious sect of the Drow, as there are no priests of Kazin Til, save the high priest, whom Kazin Til chose when he left the Drow. There is also a counter council, the council of the thirteen Dukes of the Under-cave. They are led by Tazrim Bloodwielder, who is the third member of the council of three. His son, Joran Bloodwielder will soon inherit a spot on the council of three as soon as one of the other members is eliminated. |
