First Tooth & We need a babysitter

Ala yawned and woke the next morning, she had slept fairly heavily only truly waking when Torvil woke her to feed their son before falling back to the sleep that her body had demanded

Torvil was still laying there, brushing her hair and smiling as he held Surion in his other arm. His tail was running up and down her side

Ala opened her eyes and smiled softly seeing him there and not only there but awake "Morning love" she said

Torvil smiled. "Afternoon actually..." He smiled softly.

Ala blinked "oops?" she laughed lightly "didn't mean to sleep that long"

Torvil chuckled softly. "It's okay, you need it..."

"guess it didn't help that I didn't sleep for almost 3 days" she said with a wry smile

Torvil kissed her forehead. "Sorry about that... But it was worth it in the end wasn't it?" His tail brushed his face.

Ala chuckled "I suppose it was"

Surion was by now after his father's fingers to gum having dropped his dragon far out of reach, in other words off the bed

Torvil chuckled softly looking down at his son. "Are you hungry?" He smiled softly, shifting arms to slid him to his mother.

Ala propped herself up a bit against the headboard and took Surion to feed him "He's been gumming a lot lately" she mused with a smile

Torvil chuckled softly. "Think he might be teething then?" Having been reading baby books.

"Possible I suppose I'm not sure, I've not dealt with teething kids before" she laughed

Torvil chuckled softly. "I've just been reading books..." He said softly.

"My mate the reading maniac" she winked playfully then winced looking down at her son "Hey there be nice to mommy's boobie"

Torvil chuckled weakly. "Biting is daddies job..." He chuckled softly. "Cause I can do it right..."

Ala laughed "Yes you do, I'll have to see what hurt in a few minutes, I don't like interrupting his feeding if possible

Torvil smirked and brushed Surion's head as he fed with a soft smile, and then brushed Ala's cheek. "He's gotten a bit bigger..." He mused.

"He's a growing boy, so I have to agree" Ala laughed

Torvil purred softly and nuzzled Ala's face and kissed the back of Surion's head.

Ala softly kissed him as he nuzzled "You do make a wonderful father you know that right?"

Torvil blushed lightly. "I try..." He murmured.

"No... you don't try... you do..." Ala told him

Torvil smiled weakly and brushed her cheek softly. "Thank you, you're a wonderful mother..."

"I do my best" she said with a grin as Surion let go and she lifted him to burp

Torvil purred and rubbed his son's back as Ala moved him into his range.

Once burped Ala opened her son's mouth and looked in despite his tongue sticking out a little when she did she saw why he had hurt her when he nursed

Torvil looked over. "What is it love?"

Ala laughed and lifted Surion turning him to face his dad as she held him sitting on her lap. she opened his mouth again to reveal the small point of a tooth sticking through the gums "Seems you were accurate"

Torvil grinned and kissed his son's nose, then moved a bit more forward to kiss Ala. "I want to see something... If you don't mind..." He whispered softly.

"See something? I don't see why I should mind..." she was kinda confused

Torvil nodded and took Surion. He took his right wrist and bit down softly, putting holes in the vessels there and slowly put his wrist to Surion's lips.

Surion did in fact lean forward a little more against his father's wrist after the little bit of red coming from Torvil's wrist

Torvil nodded slowly. "Now I can let you sleep when he's hungry..." Red tears were coming to his eyes.

Ala chuckled "Somehow I'm not entirely shocked he likes both"

Torvil nodded slowly and wiped and eye with his free hand. "Well I got my wish..."

"Your wish love?" Ala quirked a brow curiously

"That I could feed our son..." He murmured.

Ala chuckled "I suppose you did, but he will still get milk too"

Torvil nodded. "When you're awake..." He smiled softly. Unlike his daughter, Torvil always introduced his children to his favorite things, he let them decide whether they liked it or not

Ala smiled and relaxed

Surion sat up again and looked at his dad "Addaahhdahhdahhdahhhhh"

Torvil smiled softly and kissed Surion's forehead. "Adah and Sur.."

Surion smiled and leaned towards his father his 'dirty' face wiping against his father's clothing

Torvil grinned and nuzzled Surion's head softly before pushing him gently back and cleaning him up.

Surion smiled and blew bubbles as his father cleaned him up

Torvil smiled and nuzzled his sons head when he was done. "Love you Sur..." He looked at Ala. "And I love you mostest..."

Ala smiled widely "I love you the mostest too" she giggled

Surion started hunting for something to gum again his closest target being his father's digits

Torvil chuckled and winced lightly. "That one tooth is sharp..." He chuckled, letting his son gum.

"Trust me I know" Ala laughed motioning to her breast that Surion had fed from

"Nyanyanyanya" came Surion's happy voice

Torvil smiled and chuckled at Surion.

Ala giggled

Torvil purred at her and winced again. "He's got really sharp teeth..."

Ala nodded "Just as sharp as yours"

Torvil nodded. "Sharper I think..." He winced again. "The book says he might lose them..."

"And then grow new adult ones... yeah" Ala said with a nod

Torvil nodded and smiled, nuzzling Surion then Ala, purring happily.

"Everything seems different doesn't it" she mused

Torvil nodded slowly. "Yeah, very different... I like it though..."

Ala smiled "New experiences are good and we have lots of those with Surion"

Torvil smiled. "Yeah..." He brushed his son's face and his wife's cheek.

Ala rested against him and cuddled closely with him and their son

Torvil purred happily and kissed her cheek.

"So what shall we do with the remainder of our day" she asked him

Torvil nuzzled her. "I dunno..."

Ala chuckled "Well I think I'll start with some food, I'm hungry"

Torvil nodded and slowly moved out of bed to stand with Surion in his arms.

Ala climbed out after him and planted a kiss on both of their cheeks before heading for the kitchen

Torvil smiled and followed, intent on at least trying to cook one armed.

Ala entered the kitchen and moved to one side to let him enter as she thought about what she might like to eat

Torvil smiled and shift Surion a little. "What do you want and I'll make it..."

"Meat" she said with a laugh "Besides that it doesn't really matter... You can put him in his swing if you want"

Torvil smiled softly and did just that, before going to get some meat.

Ala sat in a chair near her son and watching Torvil move about the kitchen

Torvil slapped the meat on a skillet. "Warm, or cooked?"

"seared" Ala said she'd gotten to the point of very rarely eating it anywhere near cooked

Torvil nodded and seared it, having cooked what he'd eaten last night for flavor's sake.

Ala hummed softly and contently, her family was all awake again

Torvil lay the seared meat before her and sat down behind her, purring in her ear.

Ala purred softly in return and dug into her meal "Love you" she said before taking the first bite

Torvil purred louder. "Love you too..." he let roll from his tongue.

Didn't take long for Ala to finish her meal. Once she had she turned to face him. a coy playful grin on her face

Torvil smiled softly. "What are you thinking my little minx..."

"Thinking I should tell you I told Tinania I'd be calling on her soon" she smirked

Torvil purred loudly. "Oh did you now?" He grinned and nuzzled her.

"I did..." Ala said with a laugh

Torvil chuckled and kissed her roughly.

Ala returned the kiss and grinned when it was broken "Gives us a little alone time"

Torvil nodded slowly and started to nip at her, growling playfully. Lately he'd been real easy to rile, and right now just the thought of some real alone time with Ala was getting him worked up.

"Perhaps I should huh" she said with a chuckle

Torvil let out a low seductive growl and looked deep into her eyes, nodding extremely slowly.

Ala laughed and got up, the shop was the only place in their home that had a phone so that's where she went

Torvil sat and attend to Surion while he waited.

The Phone Call

Ala dug into the drawer next to the phone and grabbed the paper that contained Tinania's cell number and dialed it hoping that she wasn't busy...

Tinania was in her room going though her bottles of potions. She was so bored she was ready to scream. Her mother basically cast a spell on her room making it unable for her to leave without her mother knowledge. She glanced over to her bed when she heard her cell phone ringing. Placing the bottles down she walks over and falls onto her bed grabbing the cell. Looking at the screen she arches a brow "Hmmm who could this be?" she shook her head and flipped her phone open "Hello Tinania speaking..."

"Hi Tinania, this is Ala" she says when she heard the reply "calling to see if you can take Surion for a bit..." she didn't exactly want to explain why

Tinania winces then frowns "Um, I'll have to talk to my mother, see I'm being punished right now. But hold on for a sec Ms. Ala..." she pulls the phone away as she runs to the door "Mum I need to talk to you. Can you please come here...."

Krista walks to Tinania rooms "Yes, what do you need....."

Tinania bites her bottom lip "Um....I need you to talk to Ms. Ala...." she hands the phone to her mother.

Krista arches a brow then shakes her head taking the phone "Hey Ala this is Krista..."

"Well hey stranger" Ala said with a chuckle shifting positions "Uhm Tinania offered her services to me a while ago if I needed a babysitter, hence my phone call"

Krista looks over at Tinania. Tinania smiles a little then looks away. "Well Tinania got grounded a few days ago for doing something she wasn't suppose to...."

Tinania looks at her mother pouting "Please mum I'll be taking care of Surion, which means I won't be getting into any trouble...."

Krista sighs "Ala I'll let her baby-sit, only if you can do me a favor and call letting me know she made it to your home, and that once she done with her job you bring her back to Barton book store so I can pick her up" Krista looks at Tinania who was frowning.

Ala nodded as she listened then remembered Krista wouldn't hear her nod, the joys of rarely using the phone even though she had it "Yeah I can do that.. " Ala smiled

Krista smiles "Good I'll put her back on the phone then so you can set up a date and time. It was great talking to you Ala..." she turns and hands the phone back to Tinania who was frowning.

"Okay Hi again Ms. Ala, so when would you like me to come over and baby-sit?"

"Actually the sooner the better I suppose, I'm not sure how long it takes you to get places, especially since I don't know where you guys live" she chuckled

Tinania smiles "Well I can't tonight, mum wants me to help her out, its part of my punishment, but I can tomorrow if you want. In fact all day if you want me to...." she was really wanting to get away from the home and be outside.

"Ok sounds good, we'd appreciate it, do you know where the Balan shop is?" she asked trying to give the easiest indication of her location

Tinania thinks for a moment then sighs No I don't, sorry..."

Ala thought for a moment then proceeded to give directions as to how to find the shop, she gave both air and land having seen Tinania use a hover device one of the last times she saw her at the clinic. "... our house is directly behind the shop" she ended

Tinania grabs a notepad and write down the directions then smiles Okay got them. So what time would you like me to come over?"

Ala thought about it "Some time shortly before lunch ok for you?" she asked figuring it'd give her time to get Surion's day and her own rolling

Tinania write that down and nods "Okay no problem. I'll be there about 11 am."

"Sounds good, thanks Tinania and thank your mom for me too" Ala said with a smile

Tinania nods "Okay I will Ms. Ala, I'll see you tomorrow then. And I will let her know"

"Till tomorrow then" Ala smiled hanging up the phone and heading back to the house

Tinania smiles and lays back on her bed "Yea I can finally get out of this bloody house..." closing her cell phone she runs down to let her mother know the information.



Ala came back into the house with a smile and headed for the kitchen where she had left her mate and son

Torvil was still playing with Surion in the swing.

"Tinania is going to come by tomorrow, she can't today she's kinda grounded for something, I had to talk Krista into letting her baby-sit sorta. We have to call Krista when Tinania arrives then take her to the bookstore in Barton for pickup when she's done" Ala said

Torvil nodded slowly and smiled softly. "Something's better than nothing I suppose..."

"She'll be here about 11ish... guess now is a good time to figure out if Surion will take some form of a bottle for a babysitter, Tinania said she could be here a good portion of the day..." Ala looked thoughtful, she wasn't over keen on the idea of a bottle mostly cause she didn't want to confuse her son

Torvil nodded slowly. He got up and hugged her close. "We don't have to have her come you know... I can live..." He lied.

"But can I... you've got a stronger control over your urges then I do" she said into his ear

Torvil shivered softly and if Ala looked into his face saw he was actively fighting to remain in control.

Ala purred softly holding him close "Perhaps we can use the other side to go to the cliffs for part of that time use our little home away from home... we'd just have to find some form of communication, I'm not sure if the kingdom phone works as a normal phone...."

Torvil brushed her cheek. "I can pop in from time to time if I have to..." He murmured.

"No I want time alone without interruptions if possible... perhaps it's time to get something I doubt we'd use all that often..." Ala mused

Torvil winced slightly. "A phone..." He murmured softly looking at her slightly fearful.

"No we already have one of those, it's in the shop was here when we took over the shop. I'm referring to a cell phone... and knowing the technological age we live in, our son will probably be much into the technical stuff when he gets older too" she said

Torvil's eyes grew a bit more wild and he took a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep breath. "Well, got to get over the fear of it sometime..." He murmured.

"You don't have to deal with it love, I will. You might see it and hear it but I'll deal with it" she said pulling back and looking at him

Torvil frowned. "But I should learn..." He murmured. "Else I'll be the stupid uncool dad..."

Ala chuckled "Just don't mix up the cell phone and the kingdom phone I think they do much different things"

Torvil nodded softly, slightly hurt by Ala's joking manner with something that down right terrified him.

Ala stroked his cheek "It's ok love, I'm just trying to ease the tension" she said softly seeing the look in his eyes

Torvil pulled her close and kissed her roughly again, pulling away a few moments later to rest his head on hers. "I will beat it... if it kills me..."

"I know you will" she said softly

Torvil clung to her and nuzzled her hair happily.

"Shall we go into Barton? I'm guessing there's a couple things we'll need so we can completely enjoy ourselves without interruption" she asked

Torvil chuckled. "We'd have to bring Surion along..." He murmured.

"Of course love of course" she chuckled

Torvil smiled and moved to get him.

Ala moved to get his stuff that she would need to bring just in case. You want to wear the carrier love?" she asked

"Only if you don't..." He said softly.

Ala chuckled "Torvil, you have as much right to carry your son as I, plus you've not spent as much time with him as I have over the past few days"

Torvil nodded slowly. "Okay..." He said softly, still feeling the slightly strange feeling he didn't deserve to hold his son because he'd not done a good enough job as a husband for Ala during her pregnancy and Surion's birth.

Ala walked over and put the carrier over his head "And you my love are a wonderful husband and father and don't you ever think otherwise" she said softly before moving away to make sure the bag was stocked with anything she might need

Torvil couldn't help but wipe his eyes as he put Surion in the carrier. He started to cry quietly, wanting so much to just hold Surion and Ala close to him, his hand constantly getting rid of tears as they fell.

Ala turned shouldering the bag and made sure Surion had his blanket and the rather matted and gummed dragon he was so found of

Torvil was still silently bawling as he headed past her out towards the front.

Ala sighed and followed after him , she just couldn't seem to figure him out lately

Torvil finally felt better and stood outside, waiting for her, getting rid of the last of the tears.

Ala followed him out closing the door behind her "Ready?"

"Y-yeah... Sorry bout that..." He chuckled weakly. "What are the odds I'm the one who gets the freaking post partum..."

"Makes no sense really but oh well" she said wondering if it really was post partum depression or not. She unfurled her wings and made ready to take to the sky

Torvil did the same, taking to the air right after as well, sighing lightly. He didn't know what was wrong with him, all he knew is that Surion made him happy, and that he felt he didn't deserve to be so.

Ala sighed and headed into the air after him in the direction of Barton. She doubted she'd understand what was going on and didn't try

Torvil flew and landed after a time, waiting for Ala to join him.

Ala landed right beside him, she really wasn't all that far away from him when he landed

Torvil pulled her close and started walking.

"Love ya Torvil" she said softly wrapping an arm around his waist

Torvil purred. "Love you too... Now lead and I shall follow..."

Ala nodded and looked around then headed towards the mobile phone shop walking at a slow pace not wanting to seem like she was rushing Torvil

Torvil walked deliberately when he started to see the signs.

Ala squeezed him gently and paused at the door of the shop before opening it and entering

Torvil entered it after her.

Ala looked around the cell shop once they stepped in, she perused the shelves and eventually settled on the simplest of the phones she could possibly find, they certainly didn't need anything complex, and she knew Torvil would be even further freaked out by anything complex technology wise

Torvil was staring at the phones on the wall. He had picked up a display one and was mucking with it when it beeped at him. He paled and dropped it like he'd been bitten.

Ala turned hearing it drop and smiled softly , reaching down she picked it up and put it on the counter then took his hand and squeezed it planting a kiss on his cheek and went to deal with getting the phone and it's activation

Torvil smiled softly and looked at the phone on the counter. He waved off the salesperson, who looked like they were ready to have a seizure from the fact that Torvil seemed to be acting like a very easy dupe for a sale. He picked up the phone again and did the same thing, this time however, he was ready for the beep, and he started to read the screen when it beeped.

A short time Ala was stuffing the new phone and it's box in the diaper bag "Love we're done" she said as she approached him and their son

Torvil had a grin on his face and didn't seem to hear her. The phone was beeping with a steady rhythm now, and his eyes twinkled.

Ala chuckled and rested her hand on his arm "Gaia to Torvil come in Torvil"

Torvil's head snapped up. "Oh.. Sorry love... I uh..." He blushed and horridly put the phone down as it gave a death tone ring.

Ala chuckled "It's ok love, come on we have one more stop to make" she looped her arm around his

Torvil purred and followed her. "I don't know if you'll get service in the cliffs..." He muttered softly.

"I dealt with it, I may have picked a simple phone but I picked one with very good range... besides what's the point getting one that wont work there if that's why we are getting it, now it wont work on the other side but that's besides the point" she grinned

Torvil chuckled softly and nuzzled her hair. "Thanks for uh... being the savvy one..."

"The one used to technology" she said with a chuckle as they headed for the store that had kid and infants stuff

Torvil nodded. "I'll get there... One day..." He mused

"You do better now then you did when I first met you" she said encouragingly

Torvil smiled softly and nodded. "Thanks..." He nuzzled her hair. "I had help..."

Ala smiled turning to give him a soft kiss before breaking away and pulling the door open to the store "

Torvil entered the store and looked about, brushing the back of Surion's head with his tail.

Surion had long since fallen asleep being carried by his father

Ala made a beeline for the one area of the store she usually ignored biting her lip as she ran her eyes over the different style bottles and pumps and other feeding equipment

Torvil rested a hand on her shoulder. "We don't have to do this if you don't want..." He murmured. "We have the phone... She could call us when he's hungry..."

"Aye she could, but what about wanting uninterrupted time together?" she asked

He sighed. "I'd live... I want you to be happy... And those..." He pointed at the bottles. "Aren't making you happy..."

Ala nodded "No they aren't really, I don't want to confuse him from the feel of one to the feel of the next." she sighed and faced him completely

Torvil brushed her cheek softly. "We can have uninterrupted time later..." He kissed her forehead. "Any time alone with you is good now..."

Ala smiled and nodded "Ok love, we have the phone now, so she can call if he gets really wanting. He's started to go longer between feeds , solids soon I think..."

Torvil nodded softly with a gentle smile. "That will be nice..." he murmured softly. "We'll start with some blended meat..."

"and cereals like those" she pointed to the infant cereals a few feet away "just don't go overboard on buying them, we don't need the surplus" she giggled

Torvil chuckled softly. "I'll let you buy them..." He blushed, he didn't dare tell her he'd gorged on the crackers and they were out...

Ala laughed and pulled away walking over to them, "they make... strange flavors" she mused finding the one meant for starting with which was supposed to be rather plain

Torvil walked over. "Oh?" He asked, looking over her shoulder.

Ala nodded "yup" she pointed out the several flavors "I think we'll do our own mixes using the plain one"

Torvil nodded slowly and smiled softly. "Alright..."

Ala took the box and headed for the cashier not taking any form of bottles with her

Torvil smiled and nuzzled her head as he followed her.

It wasn't long before Ala was heading for the door "Is there anything else we need before heading home love?"

Torvil tapped his chin. "Not that I can remember off the top of my head...."

"Okies shall we head homewards then?" Ala asked

Torvil nodded with a soft smile. "Yeah..."

Ala smiled and let her wings unfurl "Then lets"

Torvil unfurled his and took to the air, heading for home with a big grin.

Ala followed after him catching up

Torvil flew slower than usual with Surion, not wanting to wake him.

Ala flew in silence till they could see the shop "almost home"

Torvil nodded with a smile, and landed once they reached it with a happy grin.

Ala landed right behind him and folded her wings

Torvil opened the door to their home and entered slowly, looking around with a light smile.

Ala entered after him dropping the diaper bag near the door

Torvil smiled and turned to her. "Do you want Surion now?"

"If he's hungry I'll take him" Ala chuckled

Torvil checked to see if Surion was hungry or awake.

Surion was in the process of chewing on his dragon and went after Torvil's finger when it came near

Torvil smiled and handed Surion off to Ala, thinking he'd save blood for when she was sleeping.

Ala chuckled and took Surion "Glad to see you smile love" she told him before crossing the room and taking a seat to feed

Torvil purred and sat near her, moving the chair over to her. "I'm happy."

"Good, never good when you aren't" she purred

Torvil moved close and nuzzled her.

Ala smiled and returned his nuzzle "Looking forward to Tinania's visit?"

Torvil nodded slowly and smiled. "Yep."

"As too am I" she grinned and reached to him with a free hand running her fingers along his cheek

Torvil purred and kissed her fingers softly when he could.

"Love ya Torvil" she said softly

Torvil smiled. "Love you too, shade of my heart..."

Ala finished the feeding of their son then looked at a clock "We should probably get to sleep so we can get up and get Surion ready to be babysat"

Torvil shook his head. "You sleep... I'm not tired.."

"Oh ok then" Ala replied kissing her son's head then put him in his father's lap "Don't let him stay up late"

Torvil chuckled. "He's going to bed too... As am I.... I'm just not sleeping..." He kissed her and then Surion

Ala laughed and headed for the bedroom shaking her head

Torvil got up and followed her, rocking Surion in his arms.

Ala crawled into the bed and watched him enter

Torvil put Surion down in his crib and tucked him in nice and tight, before kicking his shoes off and joining Ala.

Ala smiled and closed her eyes cuddling close with Torvil

Torvil purred and nuzzled her softly.

Ala soon fell asleep

Torvil lay awake through the night, Listening for Surion to awake, whenever her did, he put one of his wrists to his son's mouth after he'd opened it.
